そういえば東京国立近代美術館が出来たときはその当時の同時代の美術=今で言えば現代美術にあたるものを扱っていたわけだけど、いつのまにか当時の現代美術は近代美術に分類されちゃっている。そして今の東京国立近代美術館はといえば、現代美術も近代美術もどっちの展覧会も開催している。
その辺どうとらえてるんだろうかとまず東京国立近代美術館のサイトを見てみたんだけど…
東京国立近代美術館のサイト、なぜか沿革あるのだけどどんな活動をしているかをまとめたいわゆるミッション・ステートメントがない。探し方が悪かったらごめん。

しかし英語サイトにはある不思議。
